Teen mental health

'There's another pandemic, and it's even bigger than Covid - it's the 'Teen's Anxiety Pandemic'.

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, there are 220,000 Australian children taking anti-depressants and other prescription drugs for mental health. Among these numbers, there are 2,312 toddlers and preschoolers who were prescribed drugs for mental health related issues in 2018-2019.

These statistics are very scary and should be taken very seriously, not only by parents, teachers, guardians and carers, but everyone. These children are the next generation and our future, and therefore should be nurtured and not rely purely on medications to help them get through the tough times.

I'm not a parent, but I have worked with kids for several years and although, they don't always want to talk, in my experience, just being there makes a difference.

However, as I mentioned earlier, it's not just the parents responsibility, it's everyone's.
